Resolvers

AMCI’s NR25 EtherNet/IP encoder comes standard with Power over Ethernet (PoE), making it possible to install this encoder using a single Ethernet cable that transmits data and power. The connector and cabling requirements are cut in half, plus installation is simpler and less expensive. Additionally, the ability to program with implicit and explicit messaging allows the NR25 series encoders to easily integrate with PLCs and PACs supporting EtherNet/IP. Position resolution, counting direction, velocity format, and presets are all configured easily through the EtherNet/IP port. And the ability to configure parameters simultaneously makes the NR25 encoder quick and easy to set up.

LEDs on the NR25 EtherNet/IP DuraCoders help technicians troubleshoot from the factory floor by displaying diagnostic information including module status, network status, and link/activity status.

AMCI’s stepper drives provide a wide range of features including network connectivity, onboard indexers, encoder feedback, compact design, and simplified set-up. All of AMCI’s UL-Listed drives are self-contained with their own power supplies, and range from 4.0 Arms – 9.8 Arms (Amps RMS) of output current. The 7272 EnDat interface module directly interfaces with all Heidenhain EnDat 2.1 rotary encoders, high accuracy angle encoders, and linear scales. The module is digital, two-channel, and bidirectional; enabling it to transmit position values as well as read and update information stored in the encoder, or save new information. For high system reliability, sensor data such as application-specific parameters, compensation tables, error detection, and diagnostic capabilities are made available with this module. Several other features come standard.

EnDat position sensors are bidirectional, and thanks to the serial transmission method supported by AMCI’s 7272 module, only four signal lines are required. They are also self-commissioning, reporting all the encoder’s properties to the controller at power up. OEMs can download application specific data to the encoder’s freely definable memory area. By using the AMCI EnDat interface module, use of these valuable functions is made available through the ControlLogix PLC.

AMCI’s EnDat interface module paired with a Heidenhain EnDat encoder provides a feedback solution for all applications in motion control. Examples of applications that benefit from this pairing include machine tool, printing, and robotics.
