FAULHABER BX4 Series adds 32 mm Brushless DC Servomotors

MicroMo (www.micromo.com) has announced that FAULHABER (www.faulhaber.com) has expanded its BX4 Series to include twelve new 32 mm Brushless DC Servomotors. Featuring a high cogging-free output torque, long operational lifetime and no adhesive bonded joints, the BX4 Series are suitable for various applications in robotics, medical, automation, aerospace, aviation and machinery.

The new brushless motors are offered in two lengths of 68 or 42 mm and in 24 or 12 V windings. To demonstrate its excellent linearity with an outstanding torque-to-volume ratio, the BX4 delivers a continuous output torque of 97 or 56 mNm.

The BX4 series is also designed with a built-in Motion Controller (CS) version, a typical +/- terminal (SCDC) version, as well as an integrated Motion Controller (CS) version. To provide added protection to the motor and electronics, all products with integrated electronics have been fitted with current limiting capabilities.

The BX4’s SCDC variant features an integrated reverse polarity protection and a two-terminal power supply connection at the back of its motor, which enables it to conveniently replace brushed type motors in applications requiring greater longetivity.

Meanwhile, its CS variant offers compact dimension ideal for space constrained applications. It has a RS232 serial interface that can be configured with FAULHABER’s Motion Manager software. Its higher thermal limits and increased temperature range from -20 to +100 °C allows for a continuous maximum current of 2.6A and effectively increasing BX4’s versatility.

The motor versions with built-in encoder are fitted in robust housing and are offered in four factory programmable resolutions with pulses ranging between 32 and 256, including an index channel. A line driver version featuring a differential signal output is also offered upon request.

Besides FAULHABER’s wide array of external control electronics, the BX4 series is now available with an integrated Speed Controller (SC) version, a typical +/- terminal (SCDC) version and an integrated Motion Controller (CS) version. All products with integrated electronics are equipped with current limiting capabilities (peak and continuous) to provide extra protection your motor and electronics. All BX4 models are reversible and a separate power supply is now available upon request.

The SCDC version of the BX4 has redefined simplicity. With only a dual terminal power supply connection on the back of the motor (typical +/- configuration), it can easily replace brushed type motors in applications demanding greater longevity. Furthermore, the SSDC version includes built-in reverse polarity protection.

The CS version, based on FAULHABER Motion Control Systems, has compact dimensions that benefit space constrained applications. It contains an RS232 serial interface and can be configured with FAULHABER’s downloadable Motion Manager software. The increased temperature range from -20 to +100 °C and the higher thermal limits allowing a continuous current of to 2.6A increase the versatility of the BX4 line (available with custom firmware upon request).

An integrated encoder, now offered in a robust housing, is available in four factory programmable resolutions from 32, 64, 128 to 256 pulses plus an index channel. A line driver version with differential signal output is now available upon request.
