SICK UK (www.sick.co.uk) has unveiled its latest code scanner range that offers a vast array of IT integration opportunities including, Ethernet, Serial, PROFIBUS, PROFINET and CAN, the LECTOR 620 code scanner range.
This new code scanner is two-thirds smaller than the usual 2D code readers in the market. It offers anti-counterfeiting and traceability in a compact housing as well as reliable stacked, 2D and 1D code identification. For its commissioning, the device eliminates the need for a PC as it can be done via auto set up.
“The LECTOR 620 sets a new standard in barcode and direct part marking (DPM) scanner design. The innovative solution, which has been developed in response to customer demand, combines industry-leading technology, into a compact, easy-to-use design,” said Tim Stokes, Barcode Product Manager at SICK (UK).
To meet the numerous demands of the market, the company has developed four different models of the new scanner. The “Standard” version is deployed for speedy implementation of universal applications, while the “Eco” is the foundation device. The “DPM” model was developed for directly applied markings and the “High Speed” is ideal for various activities such as document handling and packaging.
An easy-to-use device, the LECTOR provides parameterization that can be achieved at a single push of a button. It features laser-based alignment assistance which effectively reduces installation time and training. SICK has also integrated the new scanner with LED illumination to ensure faster analysis of its read-rate performance.
With its smart decoding algorithms, the new scanner delivers reliable, real-time decoding of images captured at a speed of 60 Hz.
The new LECTOR harmoniously blends a compact size with an impressive field of view, covering 43 x 67sq mm, a 50 mm depth of field and a reading distance of 100 mm.
