ABB launches well-equipped MicroFlex e150 Ethernet Servo Drives

September 28, 2012 By Stacy Combest Leave a Comment

ABB Inc. has unveiled a servomotor drive line-up with lots of features for the booming Ethernet-based machine automation market — the MicroFlex e150 Ethernet Servo Drives.

The Ethernet Servo Drives are compatible with many industrial Ethernet protocols and provide local motion control programming, an integrated functional safety capability and a universal-encoder interfacing capability. This wide variety of features offers a very flexible platform for actualizing new machinery designs. Hence, these drives will likely appeal to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

Additionally, the new MicroFlex e150 Ethernet servo drive family also offers a power output of up 9 A. Its real-time operation with EtherCAT and compatibility with various protocols — TCP/IP, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP — makes this family of drives a universal platform that can be used in a myriad of applications from motion control systems with distributed intelligence to networked systems hosted by programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Furthermore, the MicroFlex e150 Ethernet Servo Drives are intelligent and have a very powerful embedded programming capability that is compatible with MINT, ABB’s motion control language.
