Advantech introduces Dual-Core Embedded Automation Computer features front accessible I/O

May 5, 2010 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

Advantech (www.advantech.com) is proud to introduce a powerful, fanless Embedded Automation Computer with accessible I/O design, the UNO-3084. It has an Intel Core(“TM”) 2 Duo L7500 1.6 GHz processor, 2 GB DDRII RAM (“expandable up to 4GB”), 2 x 10/100/1000 Base-T RJ-45 ports with 5 x USB 2.0 (“1 internal”) ports and teaming function support, 2 x RS-232/422/485 ports with automatic flow control, dual IEEE-1394b interfaces for vision inspection devices, dual DVI-I ports with up to three-display support, and an Intel GMA X3100 graphics engine.

The new UNO-3084 is equipped with 4ch isolated DI/O for handling and alarm triggers, dual SSD/HDD with SATA support and interfaces for RAID 0/1 data mirroring /stripping functions with vibration/shock absorbers for data security. This supports an additional 1 x eSATA interface for external SDD/HDD expansion utilization. Moreover, the UNO-3084 features one PCIe expansion slots and a capacity of three PCI for various function cards, including fieldbus, motion, DI/O cards, etc. and internal USB socket for encryption for enhancing software security that allow users to easily build their machine solution. The UNO-3084 is made to simply convert to AT from ATX power mode by building a hardware jumper adjustment.

The UNO-3084 has a robust design with thermal resistant and power isolation solutions. This is made via special power circuits, which keep the system ground apart from the chassis ground, providing higher system reliability and enhancing isolation from an external electrical interference. It is made with strict thermal testing criteria that ensure the system to be operated at a stable temperature.

The UNO-3084 can accommodate tremendous data volumes even under high-demanding environments to deliver reliable 3D for any industrial automation task or machine vision applications, which requires high processing capabilities.

Advantech also announced the release of UNO-3082. It is equipped with same UNO-3084 functionality but with only two PCI slots. The new UNO-3084/3082 is best suited for any industrial automation task or any Machine Vision application which requires high processing capabilities.
