Antesky’s Earth Station Antenna System with servo control

August 27, 2010 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

Antesky Science Technology Inc’s Earth station antenna system comprises earth station antenna, tracking system, feed system and servo system, which are among the main earth station equipment and determines the quality factor of the station G/T value.

The earth station antenna converts RF signal from the transmitter into electromagnetic wave that orients point to the Satellite and then radiates, while the antenna efficiently transfers the electromagnetic wave’s weak energy from the Satellite to high-frequency signals and sends them to the receiving equipment. The earth station antenna usually has high gain, low side-lobes, low noise and strong radiation. Its main specification is the antenna gain, beam width, antenna radiation pattern, noise temperature, polarization, side lobe and others.

Most earth stations use reflector antenna, wherein electric wave is reflected many times or once and then radiated to the space. The antenna’s main body consists of primary radiator and main reflector, sometimes sub-reflector. Normal reflector antenna can be Cassegrain antenna, horn reflector antenna, ring focus antenna and offset antenna.

The ante-sky antenna’s servo system functions by controlling the antenna to rotate steady based on the command requirements. The servo system includes the servo motor and antenna servo controller. A limit switch is set up on the limit position where the antenna is opened or collected. The limit switch cut off the power supply and the motor driver to stop the motor automatically. At the same time, the status of limit switch can touch the limit warming to remind the machine operator to handle it properly.
