Avago Technologies (www.avagotech.com), one of the world’s leading providers of analog interface components for industrial, communications and consumer applications, has announced the release of three new high-voltage line drivers that deliver the added supply voltage (up to 30V) needed by industrial applications — the AEIC-7273, AEIC-2631 and AEIC-7272.
With thermal shutdown and integrated current limiting features, the new quad differential line drivers offers industrial sensor and encoder interfaces, servo drive applications and industrial programmable logic controllers protection against shorts to ensure exceedingly reliable operation in hazardous environments.
The line drivers are developed to conform to encoder application’s current industrial standards. They provide robust operating temperature that range between -55 deg and 125 deg C for the AEIC-7273 and AEIC-7272 devices, while the AEIC-2631’s operating temperature range between -40 deg and 125 deg C. Offered in SOIC packaging, the new line drivers feature high-resistance buffered inputs with hysteresis to deliver strong noise margin in an otherwise noisy industrial control areas.
“These new high-performance line drivers improve drivability and assurance of power supply, with the durability required for rigorous industrial environments,” Avago’s Motion Control Products Division General Manager, Hassan Hussain said.
“Avago can now serve as a one-stop shop for complete encoder solutions, providing customers the best possible value by offering the line drivers with our market-leading portfolio of motion control encoders and decoders for industrial automation applications.”
The thermal shutdown feature of the new line drivers is achieved by monitoring and comparing junction temperature with a band gap reference on-chip. Both AEIC-2631 and AEIC-7272 feature Tri-State outputs, while the AEIC-7273 comes with NPN Open-Collector outputs.
