Updated June 15, 2026: Bogen Magnetics supplies magnetic-based encoders for industrial automation applications. At last year’s Automate Show, we chatted with engineering and sales manager Darrell Davey at the Bogen booth. He detailed how Bogen encoders are often integrated into robotics and medical applications for precise and reliable position feedback.
Many of the encoder components you’re seeing here are based on magnetic operation and maintain position information even if there’s a power interruption. At this year’s Automate Show (Booth #254) we look forward to seeing the supplier’s:
- New RMU series of magnetic rings designed for use with standard sensors available on the market.
- A range of optical and magnetic absolute encoders featuring Energy Harvesting technology, available with all major interfaces and in sizes from 36 to 58 mm.
- Absolute linear encoders for measuring lengths up to 33 m.
- Latest-generation kit and modular encoders for robotic systems and motors.
At this year’s Automate Show, we also expect to see more on the supplier’s AKS16-MT absolute magnetic sensing head complete with battery-backed multi-turn function.
The AKS16-MT absolute magnetic sensing head maintains position information even if there’s a power outage thanks to an integrated battery-backed multi-turn function. In addition, the encoder eliminates time-consuming homing cycles after restarts. It has a compact 24.2 mm x 16 mm envelope to fit into tight assembly spaces. Resolution is to 20-bit and the component is rated IP67 to resist the ingress of debris and moisture.
