Dunkermotor Receives cUL Certification

June 29, 2012 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

Dunkermotor (www.dunkermotor.com), which is now a unit of AMETEK Precision Motion Control (www.ametek.com), has been awarded with cUL Certfication by Underwriters Laboratory for its intelligent servo motors, brushless motors and brush motors that are used in applications requiring compliance with Canadian safety requirements.

An addition to its current UL certification in the US, the certification implies that distributors, OEMs and users from Canada are assured that their certified Dunkermotor components comply with the appropriate regulatory standards both in Canada and North America.

Aside from the brushless motors with integral control intelligence (iBLDC), the company’s new certification for Canada also covers its brushless DC (BLDC) motors with frame sizes of 42, 45, 65 and 75 mm and permanent magnet brush DC motors in 42, 51, 53, 63 and 80 mm frame sizes.

Wilfrid Vinson, President of Dunkermotoren USA, Inc., said, “This new certification reinforces not only our commitment to our Canadian customers, but also our U.S. and other global customers who sell their products in the important Canadian market.”

“We are proud to be among a select few motor manufacturers who can offer their global customers not only UL and cUL certifications for the U.S. and Canada, but also CE and CCC certifications of our products, including brushed DC motors, in Europe and China.”

Offered in powers of up to 530 Watts (0.71 hp), the newly certified motors are part of the company’s modular components portfolio, which include planetary and worm gearboxes, brakes and encoders.
