Encoder Products launches new rugged programmable encoder Model 25SP

October 11, 2016 By Miles Budimir Leave a Comment

Encoder Products Company (EPC) has introduced the new Model 25SP, a programmable encoder in the industry-standard Size 25 package (2.5 in. x 2.5 in., or 63.5 mm). Contained within the rugged, industrial housing of the Model 25SP is an advanced set of electronics that allow the encoder to be programmed for exact application needs.

Using EPC’s optional programming module, designers can select from six output types, choose from 32 different waveforms, and program any resolution from 1 to 65,536 CPR – that’s 262,144 counts using 4x quadrature counting. These programming features allow a single encoder to be configured for multiple applications, letting one encoder replace many different part numbers, and providing cost savings on inventory and down-time replacement. encoder

“What really sets the Model 25SP apart is the number of configuration options. With so many different connectors, waveforms, and CPRs to choose from, it’s the most versatile programmable Size 25 shaft encoder you’ll find,” explains Steve Dilts, Business Development Manager.

The Model 25SP Accu-CoderPro™ has an industrial housing; it comes standard with dual bearings rated 80 lb axial or radial, so it can handle heavy-duty applications; and it can be specified with up to IP67 sealing, to keep it working in challenging environments. With a variety of mounting options, shaft sizes, and connector types to choose from, it’s configurable enough to fit into almost any application.

The Model 25SP is suitable for a large array of industrial and non-industrial applications, such as conveyors, elevator controls, machine control, food processing, process control, robotics, material handling, and textile machines, and many other motion control feedback applications.

The video below provides an overview of the 25SP’s advanced features and demonstrates the ease of programming the encoder:
