FAULHABER introduces world’s most compact drive with integrated motion controller

FAULHABER (www.faulhaber.de) has once again extended its BX4 range of 4-pole brushless DC servo motors as it unveils the series 2232/2250…BX4 CSD/CCD, the most compact drive in the world with integrated motion controller.

The new series offers all the advantages of the BX4 4-pole brushless technology with one axis motion controller. With its high torque, high reliability, slot-less design without cogging torque and robust construction without using adhesives, the new series is suited for demanding applications such as automation, robotics, aerospace and medical devices.

The drives are based on the easy-to-use and flexible FAULHABER’s motion control platform. Fitted within the diameter of the motor, the compact motion controller, combined with a full-range of gearhead combinations and the motor, provides a modular platform for different applications.

The drives are offered with a CAN interface or RS-232 serial and can be configured easily through the FAULHABER Motion Manager 4.4 software. The drives offer a wide operational temperature range between -25°C and 85°C and provide a continuous current from 0.69A to 3A. The speed can be controlled easily from 5rpm to 8000rpm. Custom software and firmware are also available upon request. The drives feature factory preset current limits to protect electronics and the motor during operation, and if requested, the drives can be available with separate electronics and motor voltage supply connections.

The series are supplied in two different motor lengths of 32mm and 50mm with a 24VDC supply voltage. The extremely high-torque to volume ratio and ultra-flat linear slope of the torque/speed curve (35mNm) make these drives exceptional when combined with a motion controller.
