December 10, 2015 By Andrew Zistler Leave a Comment

RIO57420-f8036_1200 Galil Motion Control Inc. is announcing its new EtherCAT slave I/O controller. The RIO-574×0 is packed with digital and analog I/O to be used remotely in an EtherCAT automation system. Although the RIO-574×0 can be used with any generic EtherCAT master, it is designed to integrate seamlessly into an EtherCAT system with Galil’s DMC-500×0 EtherCAT master.

All RIO-574×0 have 16 opto-isolated digital inputs and 16 high-power (500mA sourcing) opto-isolated digital outputs. The RIO-57420 also includes eight analog inputs (4-20mA option available) and eight analog outputs, both configurable in the ranges of 0-5V, 0-10V, ±5V or ±10V (12-bit standard, 16-bit option available). Screen Shot 2015-12-10 at 1.43.27 PMAll I/O are accessible via convenient screw terminals. LED indicators are provided for all digital I/O points.

Designed to be a compact solution, the RIO-574×0’s dimensions are 4.24” x 4.81” x 2.35”.

It can be configured over USB in a few steps using Galil’s software with intuitive, English-like two-letter commands.
