Ingenia Releases New LabVIEW Motion Control Library

May 9, 2012 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

Ingenia Motion Control announces the release of a new library for National Instruments LabVIEW graphical programming environment.

This library allows for single-axis movement using Ingenia CANopen Digital Servo Drives. This will significantly improve the development time for any application using DC, stepper or brushless motors with LabVIEW and will allow the user to rapidly start performing movements.

Ingenia LabVIEW Motion Control Library uses the CANopen standards CiA301 and CiA402, working as a network command source. It includes a complete documentation for each VI and examples to help users with the start-up.

Ingenia VIs includes:

• Connection: Allows the user to connect to and disconnect from a CANopen network and its Servo Drives.
• I/O: Get and Set digital and analog inputs and outputs of an Ingenia CANopen Digital Servo Drives.
• Motion: Use of motion functions such as Enable/Disable motor; configure trajectory generator; homing, go position/ speed, do torque, wait, etc.

NI supported hardware:

• NI 9881
• NI PXI-8531
• NI PCI-8531

This new development offers easy integration of Ingenia high performance servo drive technology and the NI LabVIEW software to simplify the implementation of precise motion control tasks in industries such as Test, Measurement & Inspection, Medical, Robotics or Industrial Automation among others.
