Waterjet manufacturer Jet Edge, Inc. (www.jetedge.com) has launched a water jet cutting machine that can process materials measuring up to 5′ x 13′ — the Mid Rail Gantry Model MR513.
The new Mid Rail Gantry Model MR513 water jet cutting machine is specifically designed for machine shops, fabricators as well as tile and stone shops. The Mid Rail Gantry is capable of cutting any complex parts from almost any material without developing a heat-affected zone (HAZ). It features one abrasive jet cutting head as standard. However, a second cutting head can be integrated to improve productivity. With optional mirroring, the Mid Rail Gantry can cut large portions twice as fast.
Featuring single or double carriages and direct-couple AC brushless digital servo motors, the company’s Mid Rail Gantry waterjet systems are offered in a wide array of work envelopes that range from 5′ x 5′ to 24′ x 13′. The Mid Rail Gantry water jets also use an industrial PC controller that can be configured in order that all three axes may be fully programmable (Z optional).
Powered by a waterjet intensifier pump from Jet Edge, the Mid Rail Gantry also features critical bearing components that are wrapped in heavy metal covers with brush seals. The Jet Edge currently has the largest portfolio of waterjet pumps on the market, with its offering ranging from 25 HP to 280 HP, including 60KSI (4100 bar), 90KSI (6200 bar) and 36KSI (2500 bar) models. The company also offers diesel and electric pumps.
