Leuze (www.leuze.com) proudly unveils BCL 548i, the only barcode reader which integrates PROFINET.

With the integrated PROFINET interface, the BCL 548i can be connected directly to a control eliminating the usual path through an additional gateway. The integrated PROFINET interface allows users to operate the device easily with the control. The device is configured by choosing modules directly from the control and transferring them directly to the device. Should there be a need to change device, the configuration can be easily taken over by the new device. The integrated switch function enables users to connect more devices to the BCL 548i.

The BCL 548i connects through standardized M12 plugs and ready-made cables suitable for this purpose, making wiring transparent, economical and fail-safe. The well-designed fastening concept makes the device easy to handle and lessens mounting time. Depending on the requirements, the four M4x6 threaded holes and proven dovetail technology enable convenient and simple fastening in the system.

Configuration and alignment are made easy and simple by a transparent and well-structured presentation of the values in a multi-language display. The menu navigation is easy to use and is controlled using four buttons. A quick overview of the device status is possible with the addition of two LEDs.

The BCL 548i provides superior performance ensuring high reading reliability. The advance code reconstruction technology (CRT) assures this even in fast processes. The technology’s advantages are evident with short label heights, with turned labels or with codes that must be read at extreme inclines in relation to the center axis. Soiled codes or even partly damaged codes can be decoded.
