Allied Motion Technologies now sells smaller frame sizes of its frameless Megaflux direct-drive torque motors to satisfy more OEM applications. Motors come in sizes from 60 to 792 mm in outside diameter, with multiple stack lengths for each diameter:
- Continuous stall torque from 0.3 up to 2020 Nm (1490 lb-ft)
- 12 standard frame sizes from 60 to 792 mm (2.4 to 31.2 in.) outside diameter
- Clear ID aperture from 36.2 up to 582 mm (22.9 in.)
- Winding designs for 48, 150, and 300 Vdc
Brushless torque motors produce higher torque than standard brushless motors. They have higher pole counts, thinner axial dimensions, and larger diameters than typical motors — plus run at low-to-moderate speed. The frameless kit motors (consisting of a matched rotor and stator pair) are suitable for OEM designs than can accept direct integration into the driven axis.
A large open-center aperture provides free passage to route cables, light beams or other machine mechanics. Megaflux frameless torque motors are the suitable integrated setup for OEM designs, including semiconductor manufacturing equipment, robot base, shoulder and joint axes, machine tool spindle drives, telescope and antenna stabilized gimbal platforms, to name a few.
The Megaflux family of high-performance direct drive frameless brushless torque comprises twelve frame diameters each with five stack heights. The size selection ensures standard models meet most OEM application needs, but customized versions are a specialty at Allied Motion.
