Midwest announces IP54 sealed robust DC Gear Motor

June 17, 2010 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

Midwest Motion Products (www.midwestmotion.com) is proud to announce the release of its new DC Gear Motor – the Model No. MMP-TM57-24V GP52-195. The robust Gear Motor accepts any 24 volt DC source, such as battery power. It measures just 2.24 inches in diameter by 7.75 inches long and has a keyed output shaft measuring 12 millimeters in diameter by 25 millimeters long. Easy mounting can be accomplished with four “face mount” M5 threaded holes, which is equally spaced on a 40 millimeter Dia. B.C.

The output of this reversible Gear Motor is rated for 214 lb. in. torque at 23 RPM, and 443 lb. in. peak. Despite its approximate weight of four pounds and its compact size, the new Gear Motor is an efficient design that requires just 3.6 amps at 24 volt DC to generate its full load torque. It translates into lower costs, long life battery charge and very low noise operation for related drive electronics. The motor windings of the Gear Motor’s are available for 12 volts, 28 volts, 36 volts, 48 volts, 60 volts and 90 volts.

This relatively unique design is rated at an IP 54 protection level for thorough operation in harsh environments. Variable speed is accomplished with the help of Midwest Motion’s fully compatible Speed Controls Model MMP 20A-24V-RSP or Model MMP 25A-24V.
