A full range of NEMA 23 frame size Direct Drive Hybrid servomotors is now available from QuickSilver Controls. Four stack sizes provide 80 oz-in. (0.56 Nm) through 430 oz-in. (3 Nm) of continuous torque, with top speeds from 1,000 to 4,000 rpm.
Hybrid Servo motors are well suited for direct-drive applications – eliminating the need for gear heads in most applications. These high torque motors match well to loads in the 500 to 2,000 rpm speed range, typical of lead screws and belt drives, and can provide a significant increase in both power and efficiency over conventional servomotors in these speed ranges.
The PVIA control system includes patented damping methods to allow wide ranges of inertial mismatch without retuning or notch filters, reducing the need for inertial matching of the motor to the load. 100:1 inertial mismatch ratios are easily tuned.
The intuitive command language allows for easy program creation, modification, and debug using the free QuickControl® environment available from their web site. The programming environment provides for two programming threads in addition to an active motion. Sophisticated programs can be easily implemented. Serial communications include MODBUS® RTU, 8-bit ASCII, 9-bit binary, and DMX512. CANopen® is simultaneously available with the serial options.
Seven I/O are provided for external interfacing. Programmable terminations allow the I/O to be pulled high, pulled low, or floated while in input mode. All of the I/O may also be used as analog inputs, with one channel also supporting 0-10 V analog control.
