ESAB Welding & Cutting Products (www.esabna.com) is proud to announce the new LAF DC power sources. The latest LAF series are 3-phase, fan-cooled DC welding power sources made for high productivity GMAW welding or high productivity mechanized submerged arc welding. These are designed to be utilized in combination with the company’s A2-A6 Process Controllers (“PEK or PEI”) and A2-A6 equipment range.
The new LAF welding power sources have excellent welding features throughout the entire voltage and current range, with particularly good re-ignition and starting properties. The power sources show good arc stability at both low and high arc voltages.
Its welding power source can be monitored and adjusted from the process controller’s front panel to easily adjust all welding parameters. For the most demanding applications, its welding current range is extendable by connecting the two power sources in parallel.
The power sources are made to be utilized using the fully digital PEK controller to maximize functionality or using the PEI controller with its basic functionality for less demanding applications. In automation applications, communication is very vital. Therefore, the power sources are prepared for communication with most standard protocols including CAN, Profibus, Anybus, TCP/IP (“LAN”) or even a straight communication with a programmable logic controller (“PLC”). Also, optional communications modules are available.
The new LAF power sources are ideal for boilers, heavy pipe, nuclear power vessels and wind power components and are very popular in automotive applications and shipbuilding.
