Yasda Precision America Corporation (www.yasda.com) is proud to announce the new YMC430 Micro Center that is uniquely capable of processing molds for Light Emitting Diodes (“LED”). LED is the newest trend in backlighting technology for Liquid Crystal Displays (“LCD”). This is a semiconductor-based lighting solution, which overcomes the limitation of commonly employed Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (“CCFL”). LED backlights deliver higher brightness compared to CCFL and better power efficiency. CCFL also requires a high voltage power supply and in a large format display, they are the highest power consuming component.
The new YMC430 is ideal for LED mold applications with spindle stiffness and rigid construction. These enable the micro center to reach higher levels of surface roughness and longer tool life compared with most micro (“Nano”) centers with similar specifications. The table (“Y axis”) of YMC430 is assembled on the X axis, focusing on high accuracy and high speed motion control in micro machining. With high accuracy motion control, the newly developed linear guide ways and linear motors controlled the lighter table unit. The Z axis is firmly supported by a solid H shaped column unit, and the spindle unit is being held by a unique cradle type design headstock without causing thermal distortion. The new YMC430 executes positioning accuracy by 0.316 µm for Z axis, ISO230-2 0.356 µm for X axis and 0.508 µm for Y axis.

The new YMC430’s specifications are X, Y, Z travel: 400x300x250 mm, mass of machine: eight tons, ATC: 32 tools, spindle nose: HSK-E32, spindle speed: 40,000 rpm, table loading capacity: 100 kg, and table size: 450×350 mm.
