Promess Opens New Process Development And Training Centers

July 31, 2013 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

Promess has announced the opening of a new Process Development Center (PDC) and Training Center on the company’s recently expanded headquarters campus.

Available to customers at minimal or no cost, depending on individual test run volume, the PDC is equipped to support process development, part testing and technology application studies.

The PDC is equipped with a full range of Promess workstations dedicated exclusively to customer support. The workstations can monitor and control force, distance, angle, velocity, torque and many other process variables.

Equipment available for customer use in the Process Development Center includes:

  • Promess Electro-Mechanical Assembly Presses (EMAP) with capacities ranging from a few pounds to over 66,000 lbs. of force. The largest unit available is the recently announced Promess H-Frame workstation rated at 66,000 lbs. of force.
  • Torque stations ranging from 1 to 500 foot pounds.
  • Rotational Electro-Mechanical Assembly Presses (REMAP) that combine both rotational and linear motion in the same device.

Each device is fully instrumented and connected to Promess’ Windows based control, data collection and analysis software. Test reporting includes a summary of objectives and requirements, test program profiles, raw data and signature profiles. This information is provided to the customer as well as retained as a permanent record at Promess for back-up purposes.

The Training Center offers custom-developed classes to customers and end-users of Promess products provided by Promess application engineers with a minimum of 10 year’s experience. They cover topics including system installation, start-up, operation and maintenance.

These programs combine classroom-type training with practical ‘hands-on’ experience on Promess equipment and systems. The goal is to maximize both the value of the time spent here in the Training Center and the applicability of the knowledge gained by the industry professionals while they are on-site here.
