Report Puts North American Power Transmission/Motion Control Market near $68 Billion

October 30, 2013 By Miles Budimir 1 Comment

According to the newly released PTDA Power Transmission & Motion Control Market Size Report, the North American power transmission and motion control market is estimated at $67.7 billion, comprised of the U.S. market at $54 billion, the Canadian market at $6.4 billion, and the Mexican market at $7.3 billion. PTDA

The research report, commissioned by the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA), combines the expertise of Industrial Market Information, Inc. (IMI) and an exclusive survey of PTDA’s own membership to create a benchmark of the industry. The study provides data in 14 product categories some of which include adjustable/variable speed drives, bearings, belts & chain drives, clutches & brakes, controls, conveyors & material handling components, gearing, hydraulics & pneumatics, linear motion products, motors and pumps.

More than 85% of PTDA member companies participated in the survey. PTDA President Chris Bursack (ISC Companies, Inc., Minneapolis, Minn.) believes the study will be an important tool for use in business development and in earning more business from current customers. “The Power Transmission & Motion Control Market Size Report can help identify growth opportunities in today’s competitive markets,” says Bursack.

Tom Gale of IMI will facilitate a free webinar on November 21st from 12:00 to 1:00 PM CST, using examples from the report to show you how data can be used and applied to business development initiatives. To register for the webinar, review the table of contents and sample pages of the report, or to order the report, visit www.ptda.org/MarketSize.
