Stepper motor perfect for compact drives

September 20, 2015 By Lisa Eitel Leave a Comment

The new FAULHABER FDM0620 series stepper motor from MICROMO is a high-performance option for compact drives. All components (including connections) are in a housing 9.7 mm long and 6 mm in diameter.

With this combination of minimal space requirements and maximum power, reliability and production quality, the FAULHABER Group continues its leadership in micro-motors and expands its family of stepper motors in the 6 to 22 mm diameter range. With a holding torque rating of 0.25 mNm and a dynamic torque of up to 0.2 mNm, these stepper motors are a great fit for applications in which high power is required in a small space.Portable devices are an excellent example. More after the jump.

The open-loop operation enables fast and simple implementation, and the holding torque rating and the precise angular accuracy make this product the ideal solution for applications with high requirements on angular and linear positioning.

Applications in optics, photonics and medical technology are just a few considerations. The innovative and patented flex PCB system is suitable both for LIF plugs with grid dimensions of 0.5 and 1.0 mm as well as for wiring via lead wires. A wide selection of metric lead screws for linear movements as well as planetary gearheads with various reduction ratios round out the configuration options of the FDM0620 series. Other modifications help the motors withstand unusual mechanical loads or environmental influences (such as those with low temperatures or vacuum conditions).

  • Dynamic torque to 0.2 mNm
  • Speed to 20,000 rpm
  • Operating temperature range: -35 to +70°C (in the standard version)
  • Long service life
  • Can be combined with gearheads or lead screws
  • Ideal for positioning tasks
