XPS-Qx universal motion controller/driver provides 10 KHz DAQ rates

October 10, 2012 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

Newport Corporation has unveiled a new series of ultra-high performance universal motion controller/driver that delivers 10 KHz DAQ rates — the XPS-Qx. Offered in 2- to 8-axis configurations, these easy-to-use controllers come with the latest firmware and dual core processor.

Aside from that, the integrated motion controller/driver provides high-speed communication via 10/100 Base-T Ethernet, delivering powerful programming capabilities and superior trajectory accuracy.

The XPS-Qx is ideally suited for stringent applications that require precise control from simple motion sequences to intricate synchronization. It also features many I/O capabilities, comprising four user-definable analog outputs, four user-definable analog inputs, as well as 30 TTL inputs and outputs. Other features include event triggering with 50ns latency and up to 10 KHz high-speed-data acquisition rate

Furthermore, proprietary universal driver modules enable the XPS-Qx to drive up to eight axes of any actuator, linear, rotary, or nanopositioning stage manufactured by Newport. These universal motion controller/drivers are also compatible with company’s NSTRUCT™ instrument manager software and the Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS).
