36VDC, 26 RPM DC Gearmotor

March 22, 2012 By Miles Budimir Leave a Comment

Watertown, Minn. – Midwest Motion Products, Inc. has released a new DC gearmotor with an integral failsafe brake, the Model No. MMP D22-490F-36V GP52-124 BR-005. Accepting any 36VDC source, including solar or battery power, the gearmotor measures just 2.24 in. diameter by 9.25 in. long, including the failsafe brake, and has a keyed output shaft of 12mm diameter by 25mm long. Four face-mount M5 threaded holes provide easy mounting.

The output of this reversible gearmotor is rated for 217 lb-in. (25 Nm) torque, at 26 RPM. Despite its compact size and weight of approximately 5 lbs, it’s an efficient design, requiring just 3.0A at 36VDC to generate its full load torque. This translates into long life battery charge, low noise operation, and lower costs for related drive electronics. Motor windings for 12V, 24V, 28V, 42V, 48V, 60V & 90V are available.

The gearmotor is rated for an IP 54 protection level for operation in harsh environments. Variable speed control can be accomplished with the company’s fully compatible speed controls, Model MMP 25A-48V, or MMP 20A-48V-RSP. Samples are available from stock for rapid prototyping needs.

Typical options available from the company include servo motors with integral optical encoders, failsafe brakes, analog tachometers, and a variety of planetary gearheads, with standard ratios ranging from 3:1 to 2653:1, and standard or low backlash precision gearing available.
