AMETEK Rotron has introduced two ultra-compact Vaneaxial fans with brushless DC induction motors for high-reliability spot cooling in tightly packaged electronic and optical equipment. The Minimax and Nanos II/3 fans employ a new form factor with integrated DC electronic drives, allowing for direct operation from a 28 VDC power supply.
The fans are designed for years of dependable use in highly demanding process-critical military and commercial applications. Examples include dissipation of high heat loads within ruggedized enclosures and directing small amounts of air over sensors, such as smoke detectors on commercial aircraft. Their small size and minimal weight make them ideal for use in portable equipment.
The Nanos II/3 measures only 25.9 x 25.9 x 30 mm, weighs 51g (1.8 oz) and delivers maximum airflow of 5.7 cfm. The Minimax measures 33.02 mm square x 44.7 mm long, weighs 56.7g (2 oz) and delivers maximum airflow of 9 cfm. Their impellers and guide vanes are of airfoil configuration for maximum aerodynamic efficiency and minimum acoustical noise.
Both fans meet or exceed the requirements of MIL-B-28873 and other applicable U.S. military and commercial aerospace specifications.
