EtherCat makes Impact67 even faster

March 29, 2012 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

Murrelektronik (www.murrelektronik.com) has introduced the Impact67 fieldbus module which allows faster transfer of data with EtherCAT. With configurable input filters and 50 µs, the Impact67 also features diagnostic options, IP67 seals and pluggable connections, enabling users to create decentralized and cost-effective solutions.

A continual pioneer in decentralized solutions, Murrelektronik provides engineers with fieldbus solutions that reduce installation costs and efforts, such as the robust MVK Metal distribution box and the flexible and modular Cube67 system.

The company offers the right solution for applications that have to meet basic installation requirements minus the special demands. A module for any decentralization, Impact67 focuses on cost-effectiveness while offering pluggable connections, diagnostic options that include one channel diagnostic with LEDs or group diagnostics via the bus, port-related switch offs as well as IP67 seals.

The perfect tool for electrical engineers looking to minimize costs while keeping digital inputs and outputs under normal conditions, Impact67 is ideally suited for use in various applications, such as in the packaging industry, in the plant engineering field (waste treatment, logistics, palletizing) or in the non-cutting metal industry (robotics, sheet metal working, wood processing). Aside from EtherCAT fieldbus protocol, the module also comes with 50 µs base times or configurable input filters ranging between 250 µs and three ms.

Suitable for extremely fast applications, the all-new Impact67 is available for the fieldbus protocols ProfiNet, Profibus, CanOpen, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP and DeviceNet.
