Dunkermotoren’s new high-performance BLDC motors

November 3, 2010 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

Dunkermotoren USA has developed a family of high performance modular brushless permanent magnet motors driven by an integrated servo motor drive. The family is composed of 2.95 inch (75mm) squared high power density motors in 3 stack lengths. The family motor peak torque varies from 22.1 in-lb (BG75x25), to 44.2 in-lb (BG75x50), and up to 55.7 in-lb for its largest BG75x75. Axial lengths are respectively 4.53” (115mm), 5.51” (140mm), and 6.50” (165mm).

The modular construction of the BG75 series is available with integral electronic drive and precision position encoder with 4096 ppr. The power electronics provides a range of input voltages from 10 to 50VDC, and delivers up to 50A peak for this motor series.

Integral motion control system types include the BG75x..SI that regulates speeds to 1% over a 70 to 4096rpm speed range, the BG75x..PI that positions within 10.5 arc.min, and the fully programmable BG75x..MI that has fieldbus master capabilities, and can also execute PLC functions. The available communication protocoles are CANopen and Profibus.
