FLUX adds redundant angle encoder for critical applications

★ By Puja Mitra Leave a Comment

FLUX GmbH has announced the IND-MAX DUAL, the latest addition to its IND-MAX encoder range for applications that require redundant position feedback.

The IND-MAX DUAL is an inductive angle encoder that integrates two independent encoder systems in a single housing, with separate sensing and electronics for each system. This allows machine builders and system designers to implement redundant feedback architectures while reducing installation space and mechanical complexity compared with using two separate encoders.

The IND-MAX DUAL is available in outer diameters from 125 mm to 300 mm and is intended for applications where independent, redundant absolute position feedback is required, including surgical robotics, aerospace systems, autonomous platforms and defense technologies.

Like other encoders in the IND-MAX range, the IND-MAX DUAL has a compact, low-profile design with a large bore and resolutions of up to 23 bits. Its housing and operating temperature range are intended to support operation in high-shock and space-constrained environments.
