JVL Unveils New Process Control Modules for MAC400 and MAC800 Servo Motors

March 29, 2012 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

JVL Industri Elektronik A/S, (www.jvl.dk) has unveiled two innovative process control expansion modules fitted for the MAC3000 (3000 W) and MAC400 (400 W) motors.

Integrated servo motor offers power range from 50 W to 3000 W, integrating the driver, controller as well as interface into a single unit. JVL’s unique expansion module concept gives users the chance to select the motor size and the expansion module that plugs into the motor without difficulty.

Meanwhile, the two newest additions to its innovative products are the expansion modules that aim to process control applications using four to 20 mA analog control signals. The interface comprises four to 20 mA or 12 bit input in order to control the motor position while feedback output of four to 20 mA (12 bit) enables the device to indicate precise position.

Each signal has full galvanic isolation from the motor’s other electrical circuits. Moreover, there is a galvanically isolated digital error output that efficiently indicates errors and prevents the motor from executing the commanded movement.

The P4/P5 module also allows a second motor to serve as a slave motor that exhibit high degree of signal integrity. After it successfully configures both Master and Slave motors, the modules’ built-in high-speed communications interface along with their communications protocol will ensure that the slave motor will follow the master. When an error occurs in either of the slave or the master, both motors will be prevented to make any further movement.
