KHK USA Inc., a factory-owned distributor of KHK metric gears, has announced its Ground Helical Rack Series, including KRHG, KRHGF and KRHGFD models. The racks are intended for precision motion systems used in machine tools, high-speed automation equipment and precision positioning systems where accuracy and quiet operation are important.
The Ground Helical Racks are made from SCM440 alloy steel and undergo thermal refining and induction hardening to improve strength, rigidity and wear resistance. They are precision ground to JIS Grade N6, or KHK Grade 1, to support accuracy, consistent surface quality and gear contact.
The Ground Helical Rack Series is available in modules from M1 to M6 and in standard lengths of 100, 500 and 1,000 mm for a range of system configurations. The lineup includes:
- KRHG models for general applications
- KRHGF models with machined ends for connection and alignment
- KRHGFD models with machined ends and bolt holes for assembly
Each rack is ground finished to support smooth motion, positional accuracy and operation with KHK helical pinions.
Like other KHK stock gears, the Ground Helical Rack Series is available off the shelf and is compatible with standard metric helical pinions, allowing engineers to build motion systems without custom manufacturing lead times.
