Midwest’s new DC Motor comes with integral analog tachometer

April 25, 2012 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

Midwest Motion Products, Inc. (www.midwestmotion.com), a leading manufacturer of DC gearmotors, DC linear actuators, servo motors and servo amplifiers, has unveiled a new DC Motor that features an integral Analog Tachometer.

Including the 3.0V/Krpm analog tach, the Model No. MMP D22-376F-24V T-03-C measures 2.24 inches in diameter by 5.4 inches long, while its output shaft measures 0.3150 inches in diameter and 1.18 inches long.

Accepting any 24 Volt DC source, the new DC motor can be mounted easily as it features four equally spaced through holes that measures 0.19 inches, on an aluminum flange.

With an output rated for 25 Oz In, the reversible motor also offers a continuous torque at 2800 RPM and a peak torque of 150 Oz. Although it weighs only three pounds, the compact motor’s efficient design requires just 2.4 Amps at 24 Volts DC to achieve its Full Load Torque. All these features contribute to deliver low noise operation, long life battery charge and reduced costs for related drive electronics.

Meanwhile, its analog tach offers an output of 3.0 Volts DC, for every 1000 RPM of rotation and a maximum ripple of three percent.

The motor’s unique design has been rated with an IP 54 protection level, making it suitable for use in harsh environments. The company’s fully compatible Controls, such as the Model MMP 815-BR PWM Servo Amplifier, allow the new DC motor to easily accomplish variable speed control.

Other options offered include, Failsafe Brakes, Servo Motors with integral Optical Encoders, and various Planetary Gearheads with standard ratios ranging between 3:1 and 2653:1.
