Moog’s Modular Test Controller handles vast array of tasks

Moog (www.moog.com), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of precision control components and systems for space, aircraft and industrial applications, has announced the release of its latest test controller intended for complex and simple tests on materials, components and vehicles — the new Modular Test Controller.

Together with the Portable Test Controller, the Modular Test Controller is the company’s newest addition to its product portfolio that includes larger units dedicated to automotive and aerospace testing. The controllers offer efficient operation in a range testing applications such as single-axis test systems, shock absorber tests, vibration and performance evaluation tests.

Adept at handling complex and simple tests, the controller is specifically designed to make it easily accessible from the desktop of the operator while enabling easy integration into a network’s test machines. The new controller can also interface with commonly used sensors utilized for a single axis movement.

Moog-Modular-Test-Controller

Aside from being reliable, the new controller also comes with a Software Development Kit (SDK), which can be used to connect to existing software or to develop customized user interfaces, and an integrated advanced safety checks to ensure that the test data and test article are always protected.

With its control loop technology, the new controller effectively reduces the amount of time spent on set-up and testing. It can also interface with any electric, hydraulic or pneumatic actuator. Powered by EtherCAT, the new connector allows immediate integration with various test systems. Its embedded disk card feature offers integrated data storage, while its “plug and play” feature allows for immediate integration.

The new Modular Test Controller supports the company’s newest Integrated Test Suite software, which allows engineers to set up and run tests efficiently anywhere in the world.
