MTL Instruments (www.mtl-inst.com) has introduces its latest range of Ethernet Connectivity products that combine rugged reliability with enterprise-class performance.

Designed to operate in hazardous and harsh process control environment, the 9200-ET series of Ethernet products feature Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability, multi-port managed and unmanaged switches, Gigabit switches and multiple fiber-port options.

The new series of Ethernet products are certified for use in UL Class 1 Div 2 and ATEX Zone 2 areas. They are also ideally suited for use in extended temperature environments and features Active IGMP, which offers Multicast filtering to provide enhanced video surveillance solutions.

Supporting Redundant Ring network topology, the MTL 9200-ETZ rackmount managed and 9200-ETM DIN rail and panel mount switches offers speedy recovery from network failures needed for real time automation networks.

To cater to customer demands for Ethernet technical support from process industry specialists, the company offers full customer support to simplify installation, selection and operation of Ethernet networks.

With customer’s requiring packaged solutions, MTL also offers an extensive range of Ethernet switches that are integrated into enclosures and featuring suitable glands for hazardous and harsh environments.

“Ethernet is a core technology for the Process industry in general and MTL in particular,” said Philip Nunn, Product Line Manager for Industrial Networks at MTL.

“It is a key driver in all aspects of the Industrial Networks world, with Ethernet connectivity extending ever further into the field. This launch represents a significant step forward for MTL and its customers. We are confident that our new portfolio will enable customers to select from a range of class-leading products backed by MTL’s pedigree of 40 years experience in the Process industry”.
