New FTS 3100s – A with 10 Fast Ethernet ports from Harting

Harting Technology Group (www.harting.com) is proud to announce the new Ha – VIS FTS 3100s – A. It is the company’s first switch in the product series offering the innovative Fast Track Switching technology to machine users. The New FTS 3100s – A is the solution that meets the majority of determinism and performance requirements in Ethernet networks in automations. The switch can detect real-time automation frames and utilizes the cut through method to make their transmission faster. The automation frames are constantly forwarded before other types. With this, the automation frames have the right of way over non real-time frames. The new FTS 3100s – A with 10 Fast Ethernet ports is an unmanaged switch, which can be configured by using the FTS Manager through a USB interface. It mixes the easy-to-use handling of a “plug and play” device with single setting options adjusted for functioning to the particularly automation application. Its port-related settings, including port mirroring, data rate, duplex mode, etc., are easy to assemble.

The FTS Manager allows machine users to choose the automation protocols which will be detected and place on the fast track. ModbusTCP, PROFINET and Ethernet/IP are the protocols that are now available, and they are activated with just a click after being preconfigured. Also, there are versatile options that let other profiles to be transported in FTS mode and be detected. Through this, it enables machine users to profit using the new FTS, for their specific protocols – the switch can be easily optimized to almost any application. But in most cases, the factory setting can handle the requirements. Machine users also have a reliable and safe tool for loading and saving the factory settings when the optional pluggable memory card is added.
