All-in-One Brushless Servo System from Teknic

November 25, 2013 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

ClearPath, from Teknic Inc., is an easy to use brushless servo motor, encoder, servo drive, and controller all rolled into one compact package. The state-of-the-art, closed-loop, AC vector servo provides smooth, quiet and repeatable motion and control of position, speed & torque in any direction. ClearPath can be used in place of steppers, AC induction motors, DC brush motors, and non-integrated servo motors up to 1.3 hp peak.

The servo system is easy to use and features simple installation. Just connect power and two or three simple digital logic lines, and get precisely regulated speed control and smooth, accurate positioning. There is no separate drive to mount and take up space and no motor cable to route.

The ClearPath servo system is available in two different series; the MC and SD series. The MC series has a built-in motion controller that allows precise control of position, velocity, or torque using only simple digital inputs (switches, pushbuttons, PLC outputs, etc.).

The SD series has a high-speed step & direction interface to allow it to be used with an existing motion controller as a drop-in replacement for stepper motor systems and digital servos.

ClearPath requires no maintenance, eliminates failure-prone cables, and comes with an industry-leading 3-year warranty. Single-piece prices start at $254 for a NEMA 23 brushless servo motor with integrated drive and controller (2/3 hp peak power). Significant volume discounts are also available.
