Bosch Rexroth AG (www.boschrexroth.com), one of the leading specialists in the world in the field of drive and control technologies, has introduced the new IndraMotion for Packaging, which come in the latest software version 12. This fully open system solution is also packed with a series of additional functions that allow users to conveniently program robotics applications with the PLC in conformity with IEC 61131-3.
The multi-Ethernet interfaces on the controls and drives — including on the motor-integrated IndraDrive Mi drives — effectively reduce OEM’s costs.
Incorporating the comprehensive PLCopen function libraries and CoDeSys V3 run-time system, Rexroth’s latest software version of IndraMotion for Packaging allows users to implement in the IEC 61131-3 programming languages all PLC and motion programming tasks, including synchronized movements, individual drives and robotics. This reduces the amount of engineering spent in made-to-order constructions and allows for a more efficient division of work. This new IndraMotion for Packaging also offers various technology functions common in packaging industry, such as product grouping, print mark control and magic belt or intermittent duty cycle.
The company has also increased, with the help of motor-integrated IndraDrive Mi servo drives, the level by which decentralized automation concepts could be modularized. Utilizing a Multi-Ethernet interface, the servo drives can be easily integrated into various Ethernet-based fieldbuses that includes PROFINET IO (RT), SERCOS III, EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP. This allows OEM to implement varying automation structures with just a single type of hardware.
Hydraulic actuators and pneumatic components can also be connected, at a reduced cost, to the IndraDrive Mi via SERCOS III.
