Sanitary servo drive auger filler to be showcased at Pack Expo Chicago

Spee-Dee Packaging Machinery, Inc. (www.spee-dee.com) will showcase its Sanitary Servo Drive Auger Filler at the upcoming Pack Expo Chicago, which will be held on October 28 to 31, 2012 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, according to James P. Navin, President of Spee-Dee® Packaging Machinery, Inc.

“This innovative filler was engineered by our team to assist packagers in addressing their unique processing requirements when filling sensitive dry ingredients,” explained Navin.

With many corporations concerned about how to better protect the consistency and quality of their products, product safety has remained the main consideration when integrating new equipment, revealed Timm Johnson, Vice President, Sales/Marketing.

He explained that the Sanitary Servo Drive Auger Filler aims “to prevent product corruption from outside sources by stopping contaminants from coming into contact with the material being filled.”

In developing the filler, the company “focused on eliminating all cracks and crevices that are typically hard to clean in traditional auger fillers. As a result, all of the mechanical connections are outside the product contact area of the Sanitary Servo Drive.”

The contact surfaces of the product are made from stainless steel, making them easy to maintain and corrosion-resistant.

Johnson added that the permanent joints in metal product contact surfaces are free of imperfections as they have been continuously welded and polished. Threads or fasteners are not permitted at any part of the system that has contact with the product being filled, while splash guards and other features have also been integrated to prevent the product from being contaminated.
