The new robust, ultra-quiet 28 Volt DC Gearmotor develops 46 lb-in from Midwest Motion Products

Midwest Motion Products (www.midwestmotion.com) unveiled its latest DC Gear Motor with Model Number: MMP-TM55-36-28V GPk52-046-LS. This new DC Gear Motor with Integral Brake accepts 24 to 28 V DC source, including battery power. This robust, ultra-quiet DC Gear Motor measures just 2.2 in. diameter by 7.2 in. long and has 0.500 in. (diameter) keyed output shaft by 1.5 in. long. Easy mounting is done with four face-mount M5 threaded holes, equally separated on a 40-millimeter Dia. B.C.

This powerful, lightweight DC Gear Motor provides benefits for Robotics, Video Monitor Electric Lifts, and Automation Applications.

The output of this ultra-quiet gearmotor is rated for 46 lb-in of continuous 50 RPM torque and 89 IN-LBS Peak. Despite its weight of approximately three pounds and compact size, it is an efficient design, requiring 2.1 A at 28 V DC to generate Full Load Torque. This translates into a long-life battery charge, very quiet operation, and lower cost drive electronics. Also, Motor windings for 12 V, 36 V, 48 V, 60 V and 90 Volts are available. The unit features a True Planetary Gearing with Delrin first stage that allows for nearly silent operation for many interior applications like Monitor lifts and TV Screen, Camera Pan &Tilt axes of Motion and video surveillance.

Its unique design has an IP 54 protection level rating for operation in harsh environments. With Midwest’s fully compatible Speed Controls (“MMP 20A-24V-RSP or Model MMP 25A-24V”), Variable Speed can be accomplished.

Typical options also available from Midwest Motion include Analog Tachometers, Failsafe Brakes, Optical Encoders, and Planetary Gearheads with standard ratios between 3:1 and 2653:1, and low or standard backlash precision gearing. Motor Winding Options include 12 V, 36 V, 48 V, 60 V and 90 Volts DC.
