Schneider Electric’s new Lexium Motion Modules (LMM) are ultra-compact, programmable motion controllers. LMM delivers many features of Lexium MDrive integrated motors, but in an extremely compact size.
Lexium Motion Modules are programmed via MCode, also used in MDrive products. This shared platform can fast track motion concepts to market: speeding proof-of-concept, reducing risk and expediting the development process. All-in-one MDrive products can rapidly validate motion with a turning motor shaft. MCode programs are transferrable to LMM and longer lead PCBs, but require less development than chipsets.
Motion system design can also be accelerated using the company’s 1-axis or 4-axis development boards. Boards include isolated I/O, locking pluggable connectors and serial RS-422/485 programmable motion or CANopen. A serial communication cable with mating DB9 connector is available for plug-n-play USB interface.
Motors, accessories and starter kits are available to support LMM applications. Motors in NEMA sizes 8 (20 mm), 11 (28 mm), 14 (36 mm) and 17 (42 mm), pair well with 1.5 A LMM units. Additional motor sizes and styles, LMM power levels and communication platforms are available.
