Yaskawa Electric Corporation and Variadores SAS announced that Yaskawa America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Yaskawa Electric Corporation, has completed the acquisition of Variadores SAS.
Founded in 1915, Yaskawa Electric Corporation provides factory automation products including drives, motion control systems and robots. The company also operates in the photovoltaic inverter market in North America and Japan.
The entire management team and staff of Variadores will remain in place, with headquarters in Bogotá and additional locations in Medellín, Cali and Barranquilla. Variadores has partnered with Yaskawa as an independent company since 1991 and supplies low- and medium-voltage Yaskawa drives across industrial, municipal and commercial automation segments, including oil and gas.
Founded in 1987 by three friends, Variadores now has 148 employees in Colombia providing drive selection, design, application, packaging, systems, service, monitoring and repair. Its business model and technical focus align closely with Yaskawa America, supporting the transition from Yaskawa’s partner in Colombia to Yaskawa in Colombia.
