Galil now offers an EtherCAT slave I/O module

November 6, 2015 By Lisa Eitel Leave a Comment

Galil now offers an EtherCAT slave I/O module.

This new product is about a third the price of competitive products … as other Galil-RIO57420-has-EtherCATEtherCAT I/O solutions are $1,400 to $1,800 on average. More specifically, the prices for the two versions —the RIO-57410 (No Analog I/O) and RIO-57420 (With Analog I/O) — are:

$495 for one or $345 for quantities of 100 of the RIO-57410

$595 for one or $395 for quantities of 100 of theRIO-57420

Suitable for use with the DMC-50000 EtherCAT Master, the EtherCAT slave I/O module also works with any generic EtherCAT Master.

Full details can be found at galil.com/plcs/remote-io.

The RIO-574×0 is a compact, cost-effective EtherCAT I/O slave module. It is packed with digital and analog I/O to be used remotely in an EtherCAT automation system. Although the RIO-57000 can be used with a generic EtherCAT master, it is designed to integrate seamlessly into an EtherCAT system with Galil’s DMC-500×0 EtherCAT master. More after the jump.

Each RIO-574×0 has 16 opto-isolated digital inputs and 16 high-power, 500-mA sourcing, opto-isolated digital outputs. The RIO-57420 is expanded to include 8 analog inputs and 8 analog outputs, both configurable in the ranges of 0-5V, 0-10V, ±5V, or ±10V.

The RIO-574×0 can be configured over USB in a few steps using Galil’s software and intuitive english-like 2 letter commands.
