Interroll (a global supplier of material handling equipment and systems) will showcase its modular conveyor platform (MCP) at ProMat 2017 next month. Interroll will display a fully functioning conveyor at Booth S-1029 at McCormick Place in Chicago — April 3 to 6.
Smart, economical and flexible, Interroll’s new generation of conveyors is the durable solution material handling professionals have been looking for to help them meet rapidly changing business demands. With more than 250 successful installations worldwide, the MCP has limitless applications in the manufacturing, distribution, tire and automotive and ecommerce industries, among others.
“With business demands rapidly changing, the modular conveyor platform’s design allows customers to easily adapt to keep pace,” said Tim McGill, president of Interroll’s operations in North and South America.
Main features of the modular conveyor platform include:
- Speeds of up to 3,500 units per hour with Interroll’s new High Performance Divert (HPD).
- Up to 30 percent in energy savings thanks to the EC310 24V RollerDrive.
- Reduced total cost of ownership due to low maintenance and no pneumatics.
- Most Advanced UL Certified Controls, Ethernet/IP ZPA 4 ZONE MultiControl Card.
- Full modularity that allows for round-the-clock system reconfigurations.
- Ease of installation and smooth flow of products up to 110 pounds per zone.
- An AutoCAD-based Layout Tool to easily help design and select a system with integrated modules.
The system’s versatile design allows users to incorporate key elements of a conveying system at any time with minimal effort. The MCP can be customized to form a complete material handling solution to enable the uninterrupted flow of product. The components include not only the straight sections and curves with and without drives, but also merges, inclines, declines and transfers. Conveyor modules can be equipped with various drive systems and combined with one another to accommodate various application requirements. Zero-pressure accumulation conveyors can be built by using proven and extremely energy-efficient 24 volt RollerDrive units that operate without any pneumatic actuators.
For sortation purposes, the MCP can be equipped with the High Performance Divert, featuring throughput rates of up to 3,600 units per hour in on-the-fly mode. This can be done to the right or left, and at different angles.
As a system integrator, Interroll offers efficient automated conveyor solutions that enable its customers to manage costs and staffing, while increasing productivity and accuracy. “The Interroll modular conveyor platform system delivers unparalleled scalability and affordability,” said Peter Blangiardi, vice president of business development and sales for Automation Integrators.
Interroll will also showcase its patented MSC 50 (magnetic speed controller). Interroll’s MSC 50, the first of its kind in the industry, is the most cost-effective solution for controlling the speed of boxes and plastic trays traveling on gravity roller conveyors and spirals or the end sections of sorters. Suitable for handling goods weighing up to 77 pounds, this innovative system provides customers with total control over their conveyor and ensures packaged goods move smoothly, while limiting the speed of heavy goods traveling along the conveyor.
The MSC 50 features an eddy current brake, which makes it maintenance-free. In addition, the MSC 50 speed controller is easy to install and is well-suited for retrofitting existing gravity conveyor installations.
