Omron launches compact + robust three-phase S8VK-T power supplies

Omron Automation and Safety (www.Omron247.com) introduces the 3-phase S8VK-T switching power supplies with robust design and construction that withstands harsh environments and provides stable operation over a wide-operating temperature range (-40°C to 70°C). The compact design takes up less panel space than other 3-phase power supplies and delivers 90% energy efficiency, which reduces heat build-up and eliminates the need for cooling fans. S8VK-T series power supplies are available in 120W (5A), 240W (10A), 480W (20A) and 960W (40A) all available with 24 VDC output and features a five year warranty. More after the jump.

Panel builders appreciate the versatility of S8VK-T with wide acceptable input ranges in a single unit, including 3-phase input (3 x 340 to 576 VAC) and 2-phase input (2 X 340 to 576 VAC) and DC input excluding 960W (450 to 810 VDC). A double set of DC output terminals (three for the negative) provides easy wiring of multiple circuits. Series and parallel wiring is also possible, up to 4 units maximum.

Life expectancy of a power supply is drastically reduced when inductive loads are used on the secondary side. The S8VK-T Power Boost function allows the power supply to handle an inductive inrush for 10 seconds or less for 120% of the rated value. This protects the power supply allowing it to last longer.

The S8VK-T 3-phase power supplies meet international and marine safety standards, including UL 508, ANSI 12.12.01, EN 50178, EN60950-1, UL 60950-1, CSA No. 60950-1, EN 60204-1 PELV, EN61558-2-16 Safety Transformer, Lloyds Register. They are also RoHS compliant in manufacturing and for decommissioning and disposal.
