Video: New general-purpose ac drives from Control Techniques Commander series

August 19, 2019 By Lisa Eitel Leave a Comment

Control Techniques a Nidec Motor Corporation business now offers its latest Commander series general-purpose ac drives. Detailing the new Commander C200 and C300 is this video:

The Commander C series is available in frame sizes 1 through 9 with horsepower ratings from 0.33 to 200 hp and supply voltages of 115, 230, and 460 Vac.

Commander C drives include cost-saving EMC filters and dynamic braking transistors, and power reactors are also included in drives above 5 HP.  These drives can communicate via Modbus TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, PROFINET-RT, PROFIBUS-DP, CANopen and DeviceNet when fitted with the appropriate SI option module. The AI-485 adapter option can also connect to RS-485 networks using Modbus RTU.

Commander variable speed drives have established the standard of excellence in motor control since 1983 when Control Techniques launched the first world commercial vector drive. Since then, Commander has undergone several successful enhancements, each time bringing new technology and innovations to the world of automation.

The new Commander C series has been designed to be a simple and compact ac motor speed controller that meets advanced requirements for a wide range of applications while optimizing the user experience.

• Set just 4 parameters to get your drive started; plug-in options for added functionality
• Dual Safe Torque Off (STO) Commander C300; equipped with the latest energy saving features
• Up to 180% overload for high torque applications; onboard PLC
