WAGO “ETHERNET 2.0” Controller comes with SD Card

June 28, 2011 By Motion Control Tips Editor Leave a Comment

Wago Corporation (www.wago.com) has announced that its 750-880 “ETHERNET 2.0” Programmable Fieldbus Controller now features one MB data memory as well as SD port for up to eight GB of additional memory. Aside from increasing the intelligence of industrial Ethernet applications, the 750-880 — which is the third from the “ETHERNET 2.0” platform of WAGO — also delivers high-frequency processing of up to 1000 instruction at 235ì.

Designed for harsh industrial applications, the optional SD card of 750-880 has been specifically covered with gold-plating. With the SLC-technology (Single-Level-Cell), the SD Card can last around 10 times longer as compared to MLC (Multi-Level-Cell) cards. The card offers ESD stability up to 15 kV, Power-Loss Protection and a -20°C to +60°C temperature rating.

With the SD card, the 750-880 speeds up large-scale programming while enhancing capabilities by transferring boot files, device parameters and other file types between controllers. It also provides one MB of both data memory and program, featuring a maximum supplemental memory of eight GB from the SD card. Accessible through the FTP, the card also serves as data backup or as an additional drive.

The 750-880 utilizes new function libraries as well as an optimized two MB Fast File System that comes with an integrated Web server for status information, configuration options and Web pages. It relies on a strong, industry-approved TCP/IP stack and IEC61131-3 friendly environment. The featured protocols include HTTP, MODBUS, DHCP, ETHERNET/IP BootP, SNTP, DNS, SNMP and FTP.

Featuring two internet interfaces, 750-880 also has a built-in switch blend PLC-like functionality with the flexibility of IT networking. Through line topology, the switch can effectively eliminate redundant hubs and switches. Its IP20 housing enhances cooling, while meeting stringent EMV standards and carrying UL 508.
