Moog Animatics, a division of Moog Inc., has announced the release of its new, low-cost NEMA 17 SmartMotor™ model SL17406D (the SL17). Even though this motor is described as low cost, its robust design includes many of the high performance and ease-of-use features found on the high-end SM SmartMotor. More after the jump.
The SL17 SmartMotor features a powerful AniBasic (BASIC-like) language with over 200 commands for simple, straightforward configuration and control of IO, program flow, data handling, math and motion. Nonvolatile storage retains the program and data when power is off. The Torque, Position, Velocity and Contouring modes provide the specific control needed for the application. The integrated drive and controller reduce wiring, increase reliability, simplify installation and reduce setup time.
“The SL17 SmartMotor represents a strategic expansion of our motor product lineup to incorporate a lower-cost model while still maintaining a full feature set and competitive performance,” says Doug Parentice, General Manager at Moog Animatics. “With the introduction of the SL17 motor, customers can now take advantage of many of the SmartMotor features and benefits found on our high-end products, but at a reduced price point.”
Typical applications for this motor are packaging machinery, manufacturing equipment and material handling. For more information, contact Moog Animatics.
